Product Description
  1. The expansion joint consists of a single bellow and two pairs of hinges which are attached by flanges as ends, and two sets of hinged pins or pivots as the rotating axis absorb angular movement in any plane, in which each set of pins is connected to each other with a central balanced (or called gimbals) ring, while piping expansion and contraction action.
  2. This gimbals structure is designed to adopt the pipe distortion at the bottom segment of a vertical pipe due to excessive offset expansion or the earthquake. Also, it is very suitable to eliminate bending stress or angular movement from external loading or the earthquake, considering the security in a vertical piping system.
  3. These gimbals type expansion joints are often used in sets of two or three in order to absorb piping movement in one or more directions. A gimbals joint protects complex lateral movements to be absorbed with minimal anchor forces in any plane of a piping system.
